A Tioga County Historical Society Antique Show will be held at Tioga Downs Race Track, according to an announcement by the Tioga County Historical Society. The high-end show will feature antique dealers from throughout the region with only the finest antique wares.

Tickets for the event will be sold at the Tioga County Historical Society Museum for $5 and may also be purchased for $10 at the door on the days of the event.. The show hours are from 1 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. The Tioga County Historical Society Museum is located at 110 Front St. in Owego, N.Y.

The event will raise funds for the Tioga County Historical Society Museum for assisting in recovery from flood damages.

At the Liberty Center, those looking for unique items went lucky on Saturday and Sunday at the Together, Willingness, Imagination and Giving 14 antique show.

TWIG is a philanthropic organization of community volunteers supporting the Fairfield Medical Center. The items on display included old toys, signs, jewelry, and old-fashioned dinnerware sets.

Manager Peter Chillingworth said it takes all year to prepare for a show. “So as soon as this show is over, we’ll start planning for next year,” he said.

Featuring 40 antique dealers displaying and selling antiques, the 13th annual Canandaigua Classic Antique Show and Sale was a hit with admirers of antiques and collectibles.

The antiques put on display included lamps and lighting fixtures, jewelry, postcards, paintings and books, country and period furniture, clocks, linens and all kinds of antique accessories. The show proceeds went toward the upgrade of carriage barns at the Granger Homestead’s Carriage Museum in Canandaigua.

The event was held at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack.

The show, based in Chicago, will expose mid-west collectors to the finest antique, estate, vintage jewelry, and watches. The Show will take place at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers on April 20-22, 2012.

The expected top lot in the auction is a Roman Imperial gilt bronze bust of Castor or Pollux, 1st to 2nd century AD that carries a presale estimate of $100,000 to $150,000.

Another highlight is a collection of early American furniture and decorative arts that focuses on Connecticut, specifically Litchfield County-made objects.

Bidding closes on February 15 at iGavelauctions.com. A live auction preview and estates tag sale will be held on February 10-14 at the Litchfield County Auctions gallery, 425 Bantam Road, Litchfield.

San Marcos To Host Antique SaleThe city of San Marcos will be holding its 10th annual antique sale and appraisal on Saturday, February 11. The event “Family Heirlooms and Attic Treasures,” will be hosting vendors selling different antiques and collectibles, including pottery, linens, books, household items, furniture and vintage items.

Collectors can also receive a verbal value estimate of antiques or fine art pieces, for $7, with the exception of fine jewelry, weapons and coins or stamps.

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the San Marcos Community Center, 3 Civic Center Drive, San Marcos.

Antiques And Collectors Fair To Be Held At Event CityThe first mammoth International Antique and Collectors Fair to be held at Event City, Manchester will take place this Sunday, 5th February 2012 from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

The giant fair will be featuring around 700 stalls, which is the largest amount of stalls under one roof for a one day fair in the UK.

The new Event City, which is the new premier exhibition centre outside London, is adjacent to the Trafford Centre. All stalls are located inside a single massive exhibition stall that is situated on the ground floor. There will be thousands of items for sale, ranging from jewellery, pottery, glass, gold and silver, coins, postcards, Vintage and Retro, furniture through to stamps, and much more.
